I have often been called "gadget girl" for obvious reasons. And although I'm not quite as bad about buying them, unless I have a genuine use for them. But I have to admit, my rationalizations for the purchase aren't always as honest as I would like. At least I try.
One of my favorite gadgets is my iPad. It's very mobile, which my desktop computer is definitely lacking, and is very useful all around, with the occasional snags in use (but only because I'm used to a computer).
But recently I updated my music selection by ripping majority of my CDs to my computer (I still have a few left to go). And I wanted something more mobile than my desktop, so I decided to get an iPod Nano (6th generation).
I had a Zune for a few years that was very fun while it lasted, however, it didn't even come close to the length of time or suffer the amount of abuse my first generation iPod Nano did (and is still enduring). So when I decided I wanted to get a new mp3/media player/gadgety thing, it was a no brainer. I wanted more space, extremely mobile and a longer battery life, making the iPod Nano the right choice, according to several descriptions of the product. Plus I can use it as a watch! (I'll let you know when I actually use it that way.)
So far, it's living up to my expectations. But I'm pretty sure my 1st gen. will outlast it.
Do you have a gadget that you bought because you just had to have it? Was exactly, or not exactly, what you thought it would be? Do you have any faves that are old reliables that outlast newer gadgets trying to take its place? Oh, and by the way, do you know where the lyrics from the headline came from (I do, I'm just wondering if you do)?
See ya next time when I talk about something else.
