John Joseph Shaffer, 59, of Middle Inlet, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, with his loving family by his side, at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette. He was born to the late Anthony and Marian (Shady) Shaffer, August 25, 1954, in Bridgeville, Penn. 
 John’s mother passed away in 1959. In 1960, his father Anthony married Frances Jett  who helped raise  John. He moved to Crivitz in his mid twenties. John married Sharon Wutkowski, November 28, 1981, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Wausaukee. He worked at Waupaca Foundry for the past 25 years until retiring January 3, 2014. John was a loving husband devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all of his family especially his granddaughter, Trinity. John enjoyed golfing and was an Avid Steelers Fan.
  Surviving are his wife, Sharon; two sons: Jonathan (Kelly) Shaffer, Wauwatosa, James (Heather) Shaffer, Marinette; one daughter, Mary Beth (special friend Justin) Shaffer, Peshtigo; one granddaughter, Trinity Ann; four siblings: Aleta (Tom) Morrell, Crivitz, Lynne (Bob) Beltrame, Crivitz, Joe (Cyndie) Shaffer, Crivitz, Mary Kay (Al) Basak, Crivitz; cousin and lifelong friend, Robert Vogliano, Akron, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony, Marian and Frances, and one brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Diane Shaffer.
 Relatives and friends may call at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 801 George St., Crivitz, Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Crivitz, with Father Frederick Sserugga officiating.
 John will be placed to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Crivitz.
