Albert "Al" W. Wilke, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Albert was born on February 22, 1928, to Anton and Clara (Mickey) Wilke in the Town of Wagner.
Albert graduated from Wausaukee High School. He married Frances Beyer on July 28, 1956 at St. Adelbert's Catholic Church in Menominee, Mich. After high school, Albert served in the Army completing a tour in Korea. Upon returning to the states, he drove truck for Marinette Flower and Feed, school bus for the Wausaukee School District, as well as owned and operated his own farm. He then worked at Scott Paper Mill for 32 years retiring in 1994. Albert was a member of SS. Joseph & Edward Parish. Albert loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's games. In his free time he enjoyed working on tractors and cars. Albert was a member of the Men's Club at church, the Loomis American Legion Post #476, Scott Paper Mill Retirees, as well as the Marinette Knights of Columbus Council #719.
Albert is survived by his loving wife, Frances; two sons: Stephen (Janice) Wilke and David (Darlene Walker) Wilke, both of Marinette; one daughter, Joyce (Tim) Garceau of Porterfield; a sister, Henrietta Charland of Marinette; six grandchildren: Timmy and Taylor Garceau, Cassie and Carlie Wilke, Matthew Wilke and Heather (Tim) Harris; five great-grandchildren: Jaala, Levi, Gabriel, Brennan and Saige; and his beloved cat, Sammy. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Ann Wilke; four brothers: Leonard ("Bud"), Lawrence, Wilfred, and Cornelius; grandson, Shane Garceau and great granddaughter, Danielle Wilke.
Family and friends may call at SS. Joseph and Edward Parish from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 31st. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend William Stengel officiating.
Burial will be in St. Edward Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
