Barbara Jean Simons, 67, of Franklin, Wis., passed away on July 26, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital after a seven month battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born October 28, 1946, to Julius and Dorothy (England) Behnke in Marinette, Wis.
  Barbara grew up in Peshtigo and graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1964. She joined the W.A.C.S. (Women's Army Corp) after school. In 1967 she married James Dal Santo in Marinette. They had four children: Troy and Jeffrey (Jenni) of West Allis, Wis. and Heidi (Bob) of Oak Creek, Wis. She worked in the offices of Star Sprinkler & Ashland Chemical unitl her retirement in 2009. She married John Simons in 1992, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1994. Barb had a green thumb and loved her orchids and plants and looked forward to getting her corvette on the road each spring.
  Along with her children, she is survived by three grandchildren: Matt, Sarah and Alyson; two sisters: Judy Buechler (Dennis Dubey) of Menominee, Mich. and Marjorie Garrigan (Pat) of Peshtigo; and her step-mother, Jean Behnke of Florida; one niece, Wendy Smitley of Indiana and nephew, Mike Adrian of New York, and her partner of the past 20 years, James Drzewiecki. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and one infant child.

 Funeral services were held Monday, August 4 at Joseph E. Sass Funeral Home in Milwaukee.
