Bernyce Carol Lemire, 89, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at BAMC in Marinette, Wis. She was born on March 1, 1925, in Harvey, N.D. to the late John and Magdalene (Filler) Sackman.
Bernyce graduated from Tuttle High School class of 1943. She married Raymond Lemire, Sr. on May 30, 1944, in Santa Barbara, Calif. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2012. Bernyce was a member of Grace Episcopal Church of Menominee. She loved to read and shop and she was an avid Menominee Maroons, Michigan Wolverine and Green Bay Packers fan.
Bernyce is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Peter) Dubovenko of Wallace, Mich; two sons: Terry (Bonnie) Lemire of Menominee, Mich. and Raymond (Sheryl) Lemire, Jr. of Marinette, Wis; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mavis (Kenneth) Edinger and Kay (Tom) Howe; one brother, Bob Sackman and many special friends. Along with her parents and her husband, Bernyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Wilke; her great-granddaughter, Danelle; two sisters: Laura Petermann and Betty Miller and five brothers including: Jake, Albert, Emil, Bert and John Sackman.
Funeral services for Bernyce will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services. The Rev. Mary Miron and Deacon Jackie Everson and Deacon Betty Korn will officiate.
Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery in Wallace, Mich.
Bernyce's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nursing staff in the ICU unit at BAMC for the wonderful care they provided for their mother.
A memorial fund has been established in Bernyce's name. Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to a family member.
