Clayton R. Roubal, 88, of Menominee, Mich., passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay following a brief illness. Clayton was born May 21, 1925, in Menominee, to the late Robert and Emma (Barley) Roubal.
Clayron spent his early life in Menominee. In 1959, Clayton moved his family to Daggett, Mich. In 1950, he married the former Elaine Trepanier. She preceded him in death April 14, 1989. On December 17, 1993, Clayton married Shirley (Rickinson) Wickman. Clayton served his country in the United States Army in two wars, World War II and the Korean Conflict. In 1946, Clayton, and his brother Loren, and his father, started Roubal and Sons Sheet Metal Business in Menominee. Mr. Roubal served as administrator of the Roubal Nursing Home in which he owned and operated for 38 years. Upon retiring he turned the business over to his children. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Stephenson for 29 years, was a member of North Shore Golf Club, and served on the board of directors of the Menominee County Historical Society. He was also a Life Member of the VFW. Clayton enjoyed hunting, fishing, The Green Bay Packers, and spending winters with his wife at their home in Vero Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Menominee, Mich.; daughter, Debra (William) Rasner of Stephenson, Mich.; son, Scott (Laurie) Roubal of Stephenson, Mich.; eigt grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Clayton was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Kass; and his brother, Loren.
Family and friends may call at Anderson Kell Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 after 2 p.m. until time of Military Rites at 5 p.m. followed by Funeral Service.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery on Friday at 10 a.m. with Military Honors.
