David Warren "Dave" Stiverson, 65, of Carney, Mich. and formerly of Hillsdale, Mich., passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He was born November 1, 1948 in Hillsdale, the son of Alfred "Dale" and Esther "Lucille" (Foust) Stiverson.
  Dave graduated from Pittsford High School in 1966 and he received an Associate degree in agriculture from MSU in 1968. He was a farmer, truck driver and the former owner and operator of P&S Locker Plant in Powers Spalding. Dave was a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his country in Vietnam from 1968-1970. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards with his friends and riding his motorcycle. Dave volunteered welcoming veterans home after tours of duty and he actively supported the Carney American Legion. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
  Dave is survived by a daughter, Amiee Stiverson of Jonesville; two sons: Jason (Megan) Stiverson of Jonesville and Joel (Stacy) Stiverson of St. Clair Shores; six grandchildren: Olivia, Grace, Braden, Annmarie, Ian and Joshua; two sisters: Evelyn (Jim) Moore of Osseo and Glenna (Rex) Pickford of Waldron; three brothers: Gary (Sharon) Stiverson of Pittsford, Larry (Sharon) Stiverson of Hudson and Don (Karen) Stiverson of Pittsford and many nieces and nephews also survive. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
  Funeral services for Dave Stiverson will be Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Hillsdale.
