Doris G. Bergfors

Doris G. Bergfors, 92, of Marinette passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Rennes East in Peshtigo, Wis. Doris was born on August 7, 1921, to the late Maximillian "Mike"and Augusta (Lyman) Paque in Menominee, Mich.
Doris graduated from Menominee High School in 1938. She married Don Bergfors on December 25, 1941, in Menominee, Mich., where they resided until moving to Marinette in July of 1958. Doris worked at several local glove factories over the years and had also been employed at the Lloyd Mfg. Company of Menominee. Doris gave roller skating lessons at the Roller Dome in Marinette until she was well into her 60's. Sewing was one of Doris's many talents. She and her friends, in the group that they named "Club 13", often modeled stylish clothes sewn by Doris. Her love of learning was evident as she continued her education by taking various classes at the University of Wisconsin later in life. Even greater than her love of learning, was her love of teaching, which has impacted so many. Her ability to teach people to read, speak English, sew, and roller skate, were just a few of the many things that she has done to help many people throughout her life.
Doris is survived by four daughters: Lana Thielen of Marinette, Linda Bergfors of Staurt, Fla., Deb Simon of Columbus, Wis., and Janet (Mike) Buelteman of Menominee, Mich.; two sons: Gary Bergfors of Marinette, Wis. and Jim (Tina) Bergfors of Escanaba, Mich.; 10 grandchildren: Kelly Shepro, Brian, Jeff (Cindi), and Scott Thielen, Kaeri (Esteban) Zandate, Mindy Bosch, Melissa Plude, Michelle (Andrew) Janssen, Jennifer and Alex Bergfors; 13 great-grandchildren: Nichole (Thomas) Tesch, Stephanie Shepro, Zach Dey, Bradley, Kayla, Benjamin, and Bailie Thielen, Emily, Samantha, and Hannah Bosch, Madelyn Knaak, Ethan and Caelie Plude; and three great-great-grandchildren: Michael Dey, Peyton and Remington Bosch; three sisters: Henriette (Cory) Janzen, Mary Anne (Jerry) Milam and Judy (Mike) Kramer; a brother, Henry (Joan) Paque; 33 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Clarice (Charles) Bronold and Jane (George) Rapaelian; and three brothers: Arnold (Bernadette), Ralph (Barbara), and Francis (Rosemary) Paque.
At Doris's request a private funeral service will be held for the family at Thielen Funeral Home with Deacon Jerry Roetzer officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
