Doris Marie Butler, 82, passed away on July 16, 2013, at Rennes Health Care East. Doris was born in Porterfield on January 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Irona (Voelker) and Albin Butler Sr. of Harmony Corners, Wis. Doris attended Plumb Elementary School, Marinette High School and Beautician School in Milwaukee. She was an avid Milwaukee Braves fan and continued to follow the Brewers after her move to Peshtigo. She received wonderful care at Rennes and had many friends there. She especially liked their musical events and loved to sing along.
Doris is survived by her twin sister, Dorothy Shepard of Milwaukee; sisters: Dolores Kramer of Tum Tum, Wash., Patricia Brendemihl of Kewaskum, and Sandra (Frank) Mathy of Little Suamico; her brother, Albin (Sue) Butler Jr. of Snohomish, Wis.; and uncle, Edgar Voelker of Porterfield; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Walter Shepard, Gordon Kramer, and Arthur Brendemihl Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Thielen Funeral Home, on Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Rennes East staff for their loving care of Doris. A staff member at Rennes had been away for an extended time and upon return, asked Doris, "Did you miss me?" and Doris said, "If you love, you will miss."
