Elaine Kaufman, 86, of Loomis, wonderful wife and mother who was devoted to her family, passed away on Feb. 3, 2014. She was born July 21, 1927 in Goodman, Wis. to Ruggles and Margaret (Rivet) Kelsey.
Elaine was raised in Pound on her grandfather's, Claude Kelsey, family farm. She graduated from Coleman High School. Elaine married Elmer J. Kaufman on April 3, 1948.  Elaine and Elmer farmed together for many years in Loomis, Wis. She also worked at Wisconsin Bell in Marinette for 13 years. Elaine enjoyed snowmobiling, baking and especially cooking dinner for family gatherings. She was very artistic with a special passion for ceramics. She also served many years on the Loomis State Graded School Board. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine was a member of St. Joseph Church in Walsh, Wis. for over 50 years where she sang in the choir. She was currently a member of St. Mary Church, in Crivitz. Elaine will be deeply missed by  her husband  of 65 years.
Surviving are two daughters: Claudia Popp of Loomis and Debbie (Randy) Atwood of Crivitz; two sons: Harold (Pat) Kaufman of Loomis, David (Diane) Kaufman of Maumelle,  Ariz.:  16 grandchildren: Kellie (Keith) Stumbris, Michelle (Brian) Collins, Jenny (Buck) Gehm, Becky (Jeremy Nagy) Popp, Brigette (Tim) Finger, Ben (Annessa) Kaufman, Matt (Barb) Kaufman, Steve (Katie) Kaufman, Dan (Lisa) Kaufman, Andy (Amy) Kaufman, Nicole (Andy) Teschner, Lisa (Jesse) Mast, Brian (Kim) Kaufman, Lee (Angie Lanz) Atwood, Kurt ( Jade Weber) Atwood, Kerry (Nick) Johnsen; and 23 great-grandchildren; half-brothers: Don (Alba), Karl (Mary), Ed (Sharelle), Tom (Carol), Bob (Judi)  Paul (Debbie) and Clifford Kelsey; half-sisters: Pat (Jeff) Van Goethem and Karon (Jeff) Nick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law: Harry and Esther Kaufman; half-brothers: Clayton Kelsey and Jerry Kelsey; and half-sister: Shirley Rudolph.
Friends may call at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, in Crivitz, Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 3 p.m. until time of procession to St. Mary Church for Mass of Christian burial at 7 p.m. Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating.
Burial in St. John's Cemetery in Coleman.
