Frederick A. Yoap, 91, of Marinette, passed away Thursday evening, July 4, 2013, at his home. He was born January 16, 1922 in Peshtigo to Frederick and Hulda Yoap.
Frederick spent his early years in the Town of Grover and resided in the Grover, Peshtigo and Marinette areas his entire life. Fred married the former Mildred Boettcher on May 3, 1947. After working as a farmer for more than 40 years, he enjoyed a variety of careers. He worked at the Marinette County Highway Department, The Ansul Company and Chevalier Motors, retiring in 1987 at age 65. He retired for a second time in 2003 after driving school bus for the Peshtigo and Marinette School Districts. He was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God, had often led singing in church and was a member of Gideon's International.
Fred is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred; their children: Beverly Yoap, Brenda (Ged) Wood and Randy (Barbara) Yoap; a daughter-in-law, Bernice Yoap; seven grandchildren: Rochelle (Mark) Gann, Sabrina (Bill) Rohlfing, Kimberly Yoap, Joshua Wood, Alexia Wood, Hunter Wood and Amanda (Ben) Juncer; six great-grandchildren: Braxton and Brock Gann, Isabel and Peyton Rohlfing, Ramsey Wood and Nora Juncer. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel; one brother and four sisters.
Friends may call at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Marinette after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Tim Hawthorne and the Rev. Robert Curle officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
