Genevieve M. "Gen" Kubiak, 90, Green Bay, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was born January 28, 1924, in Norway, Wis., to George and Pauline (Kortendick) Mehring.
Gen worked for the Wausaukee School District as a special education teacher's aide. She loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, sewing, baking, crocheting, going to the casino, and "getting a good bargain". Gen was devoted to her Catholic faith and often said the rosary.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Mike (Sally) Kubiak, Suamico, Karen Kubiak, Milwaukee, Ron Kubiak and his special friend, Mary, both of Oconto, Richard Kubiak, Colorado, Sue Kubiak, New Orleans, La., Sandy (George) Berdine, Milwaukee, and Jim and Tammy Kubiak, Stiles; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Busch, Menomonee Falls; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Gen was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Robert, Kenneth, and Chester Mehring; and baby sister, Joyce.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1525 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Sr. Toni Jendrasiak SSND officiating.
