Gerald L. "J.J" Johnson, 71, Menominee resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, with his family by his side. He was born September 17, 1942, in Manitowoc, Wis.
 Gerald graduated from Menominee High School in 1961. Gerald married Lynne Peterson June 1, 1963, in Menominee. He was employed by Scott Paper in Marinette for 20 years. Then owned and operated J.J's Bar and grill in Birch Creek, he was also employed by Buy Rite and Bob's Mobile Homes in Peshtigo. J.J. loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Menominee Sports fan, and enjoyed fishing, old cars and spending time with his friends.
  Surviving are one son, Erik (Inga) Johnson of Menominee; three daughters: Kimberly Derusha and Jennifer (Randy) Rivard, both of Menominee and Jessica Johnson of Marinette; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sandy Herbst of Marinette; one brother, Robert Johnson of Marinette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Allie Johnson; one brother, Wayne; one son, Jason and one great-grandson, Carter.
  Friends may call Friday, July 4, 2014 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 411 McAllister St. in Marinette. from 1 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Elder Don Carlson officiating.
