Grayce V. Erickson, 91, passed away peacefully at Theda Clark Medical Center, Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was born on January 3, 1923, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Roseann (Matysiak) Strozoda.
  She married the late Ivan Szymik in Marinette, in 1941. He preceded her in death in April of 1967. Grace resided in Menominee, Mich., until 1965, and then moved to Neenah. She worked for Kimberly-Clark Corporation Neenah Paper Company until she retired. She met Leonard Erickson while living in Neenah; they were married on September 15, 1978, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Grayce’s interests were her beautiful flower beds around her home, which all of Len’s hard work planting and landscaping created. In Grayce’s earlier years, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, and going on vacations. Golfing was her main interest, Grayce loved to golf. She was a member of the North Shore Golf Club in Menominee, Mich., and Bridgewood Golf Course in Neenah, where she was an accomplished golfer, winning many league championships and awards. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah.
  Grayce is survived by her husband, Leonard; sons: Jerome Szymik of Marinette and Patrick (Dorothy) Szymik of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Kitty Szymik of Green Bay; step-sons: David (Jane) Erickson of Wild Rose and Dean (Ramona) Erickson of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her first husband and parents, Grayce is further preceded in death by a son, Daniel Szymik; and grandson: Clint Erickson.
  Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Inurnment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Grayce’s name for St. Margaret Mary Parish.
