Harvey Alden Gardell, 97, passed away Oct. 24, 2013 at the Luther Home. He was the son of Gust and Alvina (Gisenas) Gardell, born January 14, 1916. 
Harvey grew-up and farmed in the Town of Beaver until 1959. He then moved to Coleman and worked as a purchasing agent for Graetz Mfg Co of Pound, Wis. until his retirement in 1981. After retiring, he worked part-time for Witt's Piggly Wiggly, Cal Compe Chevrolet, and Friday Canning Co. He served as clerk of Reeds Hill School for several years. Harvey was a former member of the Coleman Rescue Squad and the Coleman-Pound Lions Club serving as secretary and then a term as president. He was a member of the Beaver American Lutheran Church and the Men's Christ Care Group. He enjoyed league bowling, card parties, and was an avid dancer - especially going to Equity Park for polkas. He was a member of the Marinette Senior Citizen Center where he played pinochle. He was united in marriage to Doris Homa on April 29, 1961. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1999. 
Survivors are one step-son; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews including niece and caregiver, Pat Nielsen; niece, Carole Rydell and lifelong friend, Ted Rydell, Sr., and special friend Charlotte Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Earl; and a sister, Garnet Graetz. 
Private entombment will be held at Forest Home Cemetery and Mausoleum, Marinette. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on January 11, 2014, to honor his 98th birthday at the Beaver American Lutheran Church with Rev. Chad Anderson officiating.
