Ida Henning, 95, of Marinette, passed away on Monday morning, July 8, 2013, at the Luther Home. She was born November 24, 1917 in Tawas City, Mich. to the Rev. and Mrs. Carl C. Henning.
Ida's family moved to Grover in 1918 when her father was called to serve at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ida attended Peshtigo schools. She was employed as a seamstress at department stores in Detroit, Arizona and Milwaukee. When retiring, she moved to Marinette and was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Otto and Jean Henning of Kalispell, Mont.; a brother-in-law, Harold Fuhrmann of Saginaw, Mich. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: the Rev. Carl Henning, the Rev. Walter Henning and Theofeld Henning; and seven sisters: Clara Ristow, Esther Schmolinske, Ruth Lemke, Hannah Nelson, Melita Durow, Irmgard Roach and Hertha Fuhrmann.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette after noon on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Stubenvoll officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Grover.
