Irene B. Rye (Belongie), 91, of the Luther Home, Marinette, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Bay Area Medical Center. The daughter of Fred and Helen Belongie, she was born April 8, 1922 in Grover, Wis.
Irene spent her early years in Grover and later moved to Marinette (Menekaunee), residing there all her life. She graduated from Marinette High School. Irene married Carl A. Rye on June 26, 1943. After Carl's retirement they moved to the Amberg area on the Pike River in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, spending time at the cabin and her grandchildren. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League and the UMW of First United Methodist Church.
Irene is survived by her three children: William (Geraldine), Menominee; Robert (Becky), Idaho; and Sue (Bill) Lund, Marinette. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; a brother, Glen Belongie; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Chaplain Darrel Diers officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

We also thank the staff at Bay Area Medical Center, the Rescue Squad and ER personnel that did such a great job.
