James M. "Hinkle" Schwerzler, 78, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday morning, August, 27, 2013, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo. He was born May 25, 1935, in Marinette to Michael and Minnie (Nelson) Schwerzler.
Jim resided in Marinette for most of his life. Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. In his earlier years he worked for the former Lloyd Manufacturing Co. and was later employed by Rodman Industries for 35 years. He married the former Meta Miller on May 18, 1968. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and comical nature and was never a person to complain. Jim was an avid Packer fan and he and Meta enjoyed traveling.
Jim is survived by his wife, Meta; two daughters: Michelle Ferm and Teresa Ryan, both of Marinette; two grandchildren: Tyler and Brianne Ryan; his former son-in-law, Eric Ryan; his brother and sisters: Lois Niemojuski, Marjorie (Warren "Toby") Gamelin, Michael Schwerzler and Joanne Galineau; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Corey.
Friends may call at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Marinette from 9 until 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the church with the Rev. James Wendt officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
