Jean A. Mattila, 84, of Lena, passed away at her home June 4, 2014. Born April 7, 1930, in Oconto, Wis., daughter of the late William and Minnie (Felmer) Schmolinski.
    Jean married John Mattila on November 1, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wis. He preceded her in death February 25, 2010.
    Jean is survived by a son, Wayne (Kathy) and a daughter, Melinda Mattila, both of Lena, Wis.; a brother, Earl Schmolinski and Marian Pauley of Shawano, Wis.; a step-grandson; cousin and best friend, Herb Kamm; and her beloved rescue dog and companion, Ellie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Arvid, and a brother, Elroy.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Blocker officiating.
    Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Oconto.
