Laura Agnes Bushonville, 88, died December 2, 2013, at Roubal Care and Rehab where she had been a resident for three years. Laura was born on January 27, 1925, in Daggett, Mich. to the late Napoleon and Agnes (Pairon) Raboin.
Laura married Gerald Bushonville April 12, 1947, in Daggett, Mich. Gerald preceded her in death on December 13, 1984, after 37 years together. Laura was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was one of the first women to join the Menominee Mid-County Rescue Squad. Laura loved outdoor activities like fishing, snowmobiling, camping and gardening. When guests came to visit, Laura and Gerald would give them a tour of the garden before going in the house. She enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting with her father, husband and son-in-law. Laura was very proud of the 39 bucks she harvested. She was 83 when she shot her last trophy. Trips to the Bushonville hunting camp brought many fond memories for family and friends. An avid Bingo enthusiast, she usually played a dozen cards at a time. Laura's Christmas caramels were a labor of love that was greatly appreciated by all who received them.
Laura is survived by her son, John Bushonville, Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters: Susan (Wayne) Mulzer, Stephenson, Mich. and Sally (Mel) Ventura, Kaneohe, Hawaii; grandsons: Eric (Courtney) Mulzer, Severn, Md. and Jay (Rachel) Mulzer, Reistertown, Md.; granddaughter, Laura (Philip) Finger, Oconto, Wis.; great-grandsons: PJ Finger, Seth Mulzer and Caleb Jenkins; great-granddaughters: Alana Rivard, Alisa Finger, Brynn Mulzer and Alexis Jenkins; brother, Donald (Manette) Raboin, Stephenson, Mich. and sister, Louise (John) Wolosick, Springfield, Ill. Laura was preceded in death by her son, James Bushonville; brothers: Arthur (Mary) Raboine, George (Emma) Raboin, Frederick Raboin, James (Margaret) Raboin; sisters: Maybelle (Gus) Morosi, Dorothy (Earl) Weisinger, Irene (Frank) Borski, Josephine (Tim) Lahay, and special friend, Erich Kedsch.
Visitation for Laura will be held in the Memorial Room at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Monday, December 9, 2013, from 8 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Father Ronald Timock officiating.
Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring.
