Lois M. Rasmussen, 80, of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Thursday January 23, 2014 at home. The former Lois Schreivogl was born on February 9, 1933 in Johnstown, N.Y. to the late Florian and Irma (Booth) Schreivogl.
On July 18, 1953 Lois married Al Rasmussen in Menominee, Mich. Lois was an avid homemaker who was a very good bread maker. She loved to paint, knit (knitting over 100 prayer shawls) and dance as her children would say, "Mom and Dad danced beautifully together". Lois enjoyed playing volleyball in her younger years and riding her bicycle. One of her greatest joys was attending Fortune Lake Bible Camp Retreats. Lois was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir for over 50 years. She also belonged to a sewing group with her friends for over 50 years and was member of the Lois club. Lois was very patriotic and loved everything Americana. Above all else her strong faith in her Lord and family are what mattered most to Lois, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Al of Menominee, Mich.; children: Debra (Kevin) Benson of Wallace, Mich., Dale (Sue) Rasmussen of Duluth, Minn., Dan of Fla., and Laura (James) Via of Schofield, Wis.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters: June and Doris; and brother, Jack.
Family and friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, on Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 2:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 4:30 p.m. Reverend Lee Goodwin officiating.
