In 1960, she married Jerry Steppke in Menominee. They were divorced, and she later married Larry Treptow of Menominee. She worked at Scott Paper Company, and later as a teacher's aide in the Menominee Area Public Schools, where her passion for children was well-known. She retired from her teacher's aide position after 25 years of service. Loretta especially enjoyed her two grandchildren and their activities with baseball, music, and dance, watching them perform whenever she could. Loretta visited often with her sisters, aunts, and others, playing card games for pennies, sharing stories, food, and laughter. She and her husband were frequent customers of twin city restaurants, often meeting friends and neighbors there. She enjoyed the casino and the slot machines, bingo, and the thrill of winning games. Music was a big part of Loretta's life. As a young girl, she and her sister Joyce sang duets on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour and Rubin's Stars of Tomorrow. She was also an avid sports fan of the Menominee Maroons, the Chicago Cubs and Bulls, and the Green Bay Packers.
