Nancy A. Haines, 79, of Marinette passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Rennes East. She was born on May 23, 1934, to the late Harold and Laurina (Schwerzler) Barrette in Menominee.
One of her proudest achievements was returning to and graduating from Menominee High School. On November 30, 1951, Nancy married Howard "Jim" Haines in Marinette; he preceded her in death on June 24, 1976. She had worked at KUS for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and enjoyed bargain shopping for the less fortunate; she was very charitable. She also enjoyed the time spent with her mother doing laundry.
Nancy is survived by two sons: Jim (Laura) Haines and John (Julie) Haines, both of Marinette; a daughter, Teresa Andersen of Menominee; a brother, George (Cindy) Barrette of Peshtigo; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Thyne; and three brothers: Bob, Ronald "Crut", and Harold Barrette.
Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes East and Dr. Mack for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established Rescue Squad.
