Richard A. Marcin, 83, of Cedar River, Mich. passed away quietly and comfortably on January 8, 2014 at home following a battle with cancer. Richard was born on March 14, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Heronim and Sophia (Zelgawicz) Marcinkiewicz.
On April 18, 1953 Richard married Marcella Ann Buelteman in Menominee, Mich. He worked as a commercial fisherman, a job he greatly enjoyed. Above all, Richard enjoyed spending time in the love and comfort of his family.
Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcella of Cedar River, Mich.; one sister, Delores; five children: Cynthia (Bruce) Lockhart, Richard Marcin, Sharon Marcin, Lori (Frank) Ross, and Michael (Karla) Marcin; eight grandchildren: Jennifer Estrada, Chad Lockhart, Craig Marcin, Sadie & Jacob Ross, Joshua, Nathan and Carly Marcin; three great-grandchildren: Daniella Estrada, Caleb & Cole Marcin; nieces and nephews: Patty Pasek (also the flower girl at Richard & Marcella's wedding), Lelonie Carter, William, Dennis & Paul Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerome and Harold; one sister, Lorraine Pasek; sister-in-law, Caroline Marcin; nieces: Jordane Issacson and Marlene Marcin; and nephew, Gene Graziano.
Family and friends may call in the Memorial Room of Precious Blood Catholic Church on Monday, January 13, 2014, after 3:30 p.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. Father Ronald Timock officiating. Burial will be in Cedar River Cemetery in the spring.
