Roy J. Jacques, 88, of Menominee, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born on August 19, 1925, in Marinette, to the late Walter and Rose (Grotto) Jacques.
He attended Marinette High School. Roy served for four years in the United States Army during World War II. After service he returned and had worked at Berger Brothers and then Arnovitz Scrap Yard as a crane operator. On December 28, 1946, Roy married Dorothy Soults at Christ Lutheran Church in Menominee. She passed away on July 12, 1982. On January 6, 1983 he married June (Hansen) Cuyler at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee. Roy coached Babe Ruth Baseball for three years in Menominee and also coached Menominee Legion Baseball for three years, he was proud to have led the Menominee Legion Team to the 1970 State Tournament.
Roy is survived by his wife, June; three sons: Dave (Carol), Dan (Cindy) both of Marinette, and John (Linda) of Menominee: two daughters: Jeanne (Gary) Hornick of Las Vegas, and Gloria (Christopher) Weymouth of Marinette; two step-sons: Ron Cuyler of Marinette and Gary (Rose) Cuyler of Oshkosh; three step-daughters: Georgeann (David) Ennocenti of Beloit, Karen (Clay) Mielke of Peshtigo, and Michelle Cuyler of Marinette; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by three brothers: Raymond, Bob, and Lloyd; two sisters: Erma and Elma; and a grandson, Ronald Cuyler.
Private family services will be held.
