Tyler S. Walk, 26, of Marinette, was tragically taken from his family and friends early on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013. He was born July 15, 1986, in Marinette to Sandra (Berth) Walk and the late Scott E. Walk.
Tyler resided in Marinette for most of his life and was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 2004. He was currently a full-time student at Fox Valley Technical College and employed at Waupaca Foundry in Marinette. Tyler's interest in youth sports led to his officiating as an umpire for Marinette Youth Baseball and Softball and adult softball leagues with the Marinette Recreation Dept. He also played for the Johnson Sewer Service softball team. He was a member of the M & O Conference Officials Association as a football referee. As an avid outdoorsman, Tyler was passionate about hunting and fishing. He was also a dedicated fan of the Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He cherished his nights of Bingo with the elderly women and was a proud VIP member at numerous casinos. By many he was the type of person that you would hate to love and love to hate.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Sandra Walk of Peshtigo; his devoted sister, Trisha Walk of Hammonton, N.J.; a nephew he dearly loved, Landen Pratts; Samantha Zahorik of Marinette, the love of his life; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Walk; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Iverson officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Tyler Walk Memorial Fund, established at Stephenson National Bank & Trust of Marinette.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all emergency personnel that assisted in Tyler's tragic accident.
Thank you to all those individuals who influenced Tyler's life and helped develop his character.
