Virginia "Ginny" Bilodeau, 87, of Menominee, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Luther Home in Marinette. She was born July 19, 1926, in Menominee to Floyd and Philomen (Saunier) Plude.
Virginia resided in Menominee all of her life and was a graduate of Menominee High School, Class of 1945. She married John D. Bilodeau on September 20, 1947. During a long employment career, Virginia worked at several Menominee businesses, the Montgomery Ward Store, Fab's Fabric Store, the Star Cleaners where she also did alterations and for the past 27 years, worked at Colonel K's Pasty Shop. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, golfing and was a former member of North Shore Golf Club. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Parish and the St. Anne Sodality.
Virginia is survived by one daughter, Sandy Bilodeau of Menominee; two grandsons: Spencer Hayward and Casey Hayward; two brothers: Ivan Plude and Floyd Plude, both of Menominee; one sister, Alice Erickson of Marinette; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on April 19, 1991; and by a sister, Frances Hartl; and a brother, Alden Plude.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013. The St. Anne Sodality will hold a prayer service at 11:15 a.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
