MARINETTE — Jordan Rasner rapped out three hits and Cody Woods and Luke Kelly combined to limit Channing to five hits in the Marinette Redbirds’ 7-2 Wishigan League victory at Pedersen Ball Park Sunday afternoon.
Woods checked the Railroaders on three hits, allowed just one walk and fanned seven in his seven-inning start to earn the win.
Kelly gave up two hits and allowed three walks in his two inning of relief.
Adam Francour drove in Jason Hofer with a double in the first inning and Pat Wolard brought home Francour with a single.
The Railroaders cut the lead in half in the second inning on a walk, an error and Andy Herro’s RBI single.
Marinette pumped its lead to 4-1 in the fourth. Rasner had a leadoff single,  Francour was hit by a pitch and Wolard delivered a two-run single.
Scott Eldredge reached on an error in the Redbirds’ fifth and scored on Rasner’s single.
The Railroaders chipped the margin to 5-2 in the eighth when they loaded the bases with one out on three walks. The Redbirds turned a 6-4-3 double play to limit the damage.
Francour led off the Marinette eighth with a single, Wolward was hit by a pitch, Kelly smacked an RBI single and Todd Olsen drove in Kelly with a sac fly to cap the Marinette scoring.
Wolard and Francour each contributed two hits to Marinette’s nine-hit output.
The Redbirds play host to the Escanaba Polecats Wednesday at 7:30  p.m.
