MARINETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT CITY OF MARINETTE, WISCONSIN WNAXLP CITY OF MARINETTE PUBLIC NOTICE The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the City of Marinette to reconstruct three interconnected streets: Ludington, Wells, and Main Streets and the pave and develop two City-owned lots, including the installation of utilities to support temporary structures and new parking spaces in the City of Marinette, Marinette County, Wisconsin for the purpose of improving failing infrastructure, supporting businesses, and improving public health . Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, EDA is conducting an environmental assessment (EA) of the proposed project. The project will involve the rebuilding and additions of utilities, sidewalks, lighting, and parking. The project will be located at Ludington, Wells, and Main Streets in downtown Marinette near the Menominee River and the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard. The purpose of the project is to improve access and mobility in the downtown area. One of the structures on the paved site will include a COVID-19 planning and response operations facility that will facilitate screening of shipyard workers.
