Literacy class communicates with residents

Tessa McVane, Hunter Dickinson, Jackie Rolkosky and Braedyn Bender work on projects in Kelly Francour’s Literacy class. Francour’s Literacy class, made up of seventh and eighth graders going to Marinette Middle School, have a community partnership with the Luther Home in Marinette. Each student has a resident who they communicate with monthly until they get the chance to visit in person. Students have written biographies about themselves, made scarecrow popsicle crafts, designed Halloween cards, made coasters, colored Thanksgiving cards and sent the residents a bag of treats. Other participating students include: Asher Hill, Brookelynn Dobbins, Daniel Donner, Blake Dufour, Kiyah Harmon, Jordan Hinton and Kelcy Johnson.
