Maroons slay Knights in High School Bowl

MARQUETTE, Michigan—The Menominee Maroons played the Norway Knights in the first round of High School Bowl and won by a score of 140-90. Menominee will advance to the second round when they play Houghton in Game 12, scheduled to air Dec. 19.

Representing Menominee are: Hanna Drifka, team captain Daniel Birch, Erin Schuettpelz, Logan Ayers, alternate Jasmine Grotto and coach Anne Burmeister. High School Bowl host Jim Koski.

Forty schools from the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin field teams for WNMU-TV’s High School Bowl tournament, now celebrating 43 years on the air. Running from November through the championship game in April, the High School Bowl series airs on WNMU-TV Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Mondays at 3 p.m. More information about the 2021-2022 tournament is available at wnmutv.nmu.edu.
