STEPHENSON — The Stephenson Marketing Cooperative and Cenex® awarded the Menominee County Fair Board a $5,000 grant to further develop its event grounds.
Including a horse show, truck and tractor pulls, and a live small-animal auction, the Menominee County Fair brings in folks from across Menominee and neighboring counties. Youth from the community who raise animals have the opportunity to demonstrate proper techniques for animal care in front of a live judging panel. Though this year’s fair will be held virtually in July, a check presentation was presented to Erik Tickler, president of the Menominee County Fair board by Chelsea Rogers, manager of Powers C-Store at Stephenson Marketing Co-op. The board will use the grant money to improve the event grounds for future gatherings.
“The Menominee County Fair has been a monumental event to our town for over one hundred years,” said Jesse Betters, CEO at Stephenson Marketing Co-op. “We’re proud to support the development of the fairgrounds so this annual community tradition can continue for many years to come.”
The grant was provided through an initiative that encourages Cenex® dealers, retailers and distributors to share stories about what makes their local communities special.
