MARINETTE — Marinette Youth Baseball/Softball Inc. (MYBI) received $2,720 from the Impact Fund Fund for COVID-19 relief from the M&M Area Community Foundation (MMACF). The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation established this fund in March to help nonprofits whose resources have been strained by the coronavirus. The Foundation started the Impact Fund with $25,000. Additional donations were made to the fund by community members throughout Marinette and Menominee counties.

MYBI will use this grant to help offset some of the expenses the organization will still incur as a result of canceling the season.

“People don’t realize we still need to maintain our fields and grounds even if we do not have a season. In 2019, prior to the pandemic, MYBI and Marinette School district invested money in improving the fields for the area youth and the HS programs. We take pride in our facilities and we will continue to keep them groomed for the upcoming seasons in 2021.” said Sue Erdman, MYBI president.

MYBI is a nonprofit organization that serves both boys and girls in the Marinette area between the ages of 4-16. The organization provides a supervised program of competitive baseball and/or softball opportunities for kids in our community. This grant will help the organization to offset some of its field maintenance expenses that it is still incurring.
