Earlier this year, The Salvation Army (TSA) received a $3,000 grant from the Homelessness Prevention Services Endowed Fund held at the M&M Area Community Foundation. The Salvation Army was able to use this grant to support its Emergency Assistance Program. Emergency Assistance provides help with a portion of utilities and rent for individuals and families in danger of becoming homeless, entering new housing, or losing access to necessary utilities like heat and water. In the last year, The Salvation Army was able to assist 81 households living in Marinette and Menominee counties, most of whom were families with children or seniors.

Julia Nutter, case manager, said, “The Salvation Army’s mission is to meet human need without discrimination and this grant allowed us to extend extra grace to our struggling neighbors, and provide hope during this time of a global pandemic. We will be here standing alongside other agencies to offer the help people need to get back on their feet and look towards a brighter future. We are so grateful to the M&M Area Community Foundation for giving us this opportunity.”
