Allen William Durow Sr. Jul 24, 2020 Jul 24, 2020 Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Save Allen William Durow Sr., 78, of Menominee, Mich., passed away peacefully July 22, 2020, at his granddaughter’s home with his son and granddaughter by his side. Allen was born March 25, 1942, in Marinette, Wis., to the late Albert Durow and Clara (Johnson – Durow) Beaufait. Allen graduated from Menominee High School in 1960. He married the late Gloria Kuhnlein on June 2, 1962 in Menominee. After graduation, he worked at AMC (American Motors Corporation) in Kenosha before returning to Menominee to work for his Father-In-Law Pete Kuhnlein at K&C Plumbing and Heating where he started his long career as a plumber and pipefitter. From there, he worked at All State Mechanical as a job superintendent where he was able to retire at age 55. After retirement, he spent his winters with his beloved wife, Gloria, in Florida and Alabama. After Gloria passed in 2013, he looked forward to and enjoyed spending his winters in Florida with his sister, Elaine. Allen enjoyed time spent with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed Menominee Maroons football, NASCAR, and University of Michigan football. Allen is survived by his sons: Jeffrey Durow Sr. of Shawano, Wis., and Allen (Aoife) Durow Jr of Camden, Maine; sister, Elaine Durow of Lake Worth, Fla.; his grandchildren: Heather (Roswell) Egilsson of Green Bay, Wis., Jeffrey (special friend Chey Glenz) Durow Jr. of Eau Claire, Wis., and Úla Durow of Camden, Maine; great-grandchildren: Liam and Beckett Egilsson; brothers-in-law: Pete (Della) Kuhnlein, Steve (Sue) Kuhnlein and Bill (Gloria) Kuhnlein; many nieces and nephews; his special friend, Bea Lindstrom; and his faithful companion, Maggie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara; wife, Gloria; brother, Elroy; sister, Marlene; and daughter-in-law Barb Sohr-Durow. Due to current public health concerns, there will be a private burial service at Faithorn Cemetery and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Unity Hospice, Dr. James Rider and Amanda NP, and Dr. Daniel Lemkuil for their care, kindness and compassion to Allen and family.Anderson Kell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
