Smith, 88, formerly of MenomineeMI., passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022,with his daughter by his sideat the Cottages. He was bornon March 27, 1934, to thelate Charles and Margaret(Bauer) Smith in Menominee.On September 1, 1956, Ronmarried Joan Zolmierski inMenominee, MI; she precededhim in death on October 8,2008. He took great pride inall he did. He had worked asa Mason, completing work on Menominee HighSchool, and Lambeau Field. After retirement, hehad a business selling cement lawn ornaments.He was known for his love of gardening, especiallyselling his organic garlic. And he always had oneof his cats snuggled in his lap. He was “one of akind” and will leave a huge void for all who lovedhim! His famous parting words “if you can’t begood, be careful.”Ron is survived by his son, Kevin Smith;daughters: Rhonda Philibeck and BrendaSchweiger; granddaughters: Melissa Philibeckand Jennifer Philibeck; great-grandchildren:Jaxson and Lylah Joan; and his best friend, BettieRabideau. In addition to his parents and wife,Joan, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.A Memorial Service will be held in the spring inhis garden. Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery.THIELEN FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
