Helen Jane Herson, 79, Ingalls, Mich., passed away April 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 18, 1941 to Helen and George Ochs in Wolverine, Mich.
Helen graduated from Wolverine High School Class of 1959. She married Kenneth Herson on Sept. 15, 1962. Helen enjoyed collecting precious moment figurines, reading, playing cards and scrabble games. Her family was the most important thing to her. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years; their daughters: Karen (Frank) Medrano and Sharon; their grandson, Patrick (Misty) who they lovingly raised; granddaughters: Jessica (Ben), Sierra (Zach); grandsons: Brandon and Mark; and great-grandchildren: Haylie, Waylon and Ellen. She is also survived by her brothers: Ralph (Doreen) and Lyle; sisters: Mary, Char (Doug) and Judy (Clayt); brother-in-law, Jerry Herson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, George; and many other loved family members.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at St. Mary Cathedral, Lansing, Mich. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Mid-County Rescue Squad in Stephenson, Mich., the National Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Regency of Lansing West for the compassionate care they gave Helen. The staffs of the Fresenius Kidney Care center of Lansing West and the DaVita Dialysis center of Marinette, Wis. We would also like to thank Char and Doug Herson and Justin Svinicki for always being there when they needed help.
