Joseph James Paitl, 77 of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Friday April 30, 2021 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisc. Joe was born on June 5, 1943 in Menominee to Joseph and Margaret (Menacher) Paitl.
He was a 1961 graduate of Menominee High School. Joe was drafted into the United States Army, proudly serving his country in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. On May 4, 1974, Joe married the former Cynthia Felch at Resurrection Catholic Church. He was employed in the pre-press department at the EagleHerald for many years until his retirement in 2008. Joe loved to travel, spending many winters in Arizona. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and watching any sports. Joe was an avid local sports fan and loved the Green Bay Packer and was proud to have attended the Ice Bowl. Joe was a longtime member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of almost 47 years: Cindy; two daughters: Natalie (Mark) Mayerhofer and Laurie (John) Pesola; three granddaughters: Thea Dausey and Maria and Mackenzi Pesola, all of Menominee; sister, Margaret Ann Radick of New Port Richey, FL; sisters in law: Linda (Norman) Rohde and Tammy Felch; brother in law: Leon Felch; nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, John Paitl and sister-in-law Gail Felch.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Monday May 3, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the of soul of Joseph James Paitl at 6:30 pm at Resurrection Catholic Church with Father Brian Gerber presiding. Burial with military honors conducted by the Military 20 Year Club will be held on Tuesday May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in Riverside Cemetery.
