Marion E. Carvenough

Marion E. Carvenough, 97, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Rennes Health Center West with family by her side. She was born in Menominee, Mich., to the late Joseph “Goldie” and Sarah (Barrett) Thoune on September 4, 1924. She graduated from Menominee High School with the class of 1942. Marion worked in Chicago for a short time, then Lloyd Manufacturing, and retired from Marinette Public Schools, where she worked in food service. Marion married Willis Carvenough on June 4, 1945, in Portland, OR; he preceded her in death on March 4, 2004. She was a den mother, a charter member of the Amvets Auxiliary, and volunteered at the VA Clinic in Menominee and the Iron Mountain Veterans hospital, where she received her 2500 hours volunteer pin. Marion was a member of Holy Family Church, the Altar Society, parish craft groups, and Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Lady Elks and Senior Center. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards, and visits with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.

Marion is survived by her children: Weston (Karen) Carvenough of Green Bay, Kerry Neville of Peshtigo, and Renee (Terrence) Dupuis of St. Peters, Mo; four grandchildren: Christopher Neville and his three children: Abby (Cody) Ferron and son, Gabriel; Joran, and Shayna; Kevin Carvenough; Tiffany (Alexandro) Calderon and their children: Enrique and Kristi; and Jennipher (Joseph) Howarth and their two children, Mikenzie (Brandon) Connaher with one on the way; and Hunter. She is also survived by a sister, Sharon Ruleau, brother in law, Wilton (Janice) Carvenough, and sister in law, Joann Kiefer. In addition to her parents, Goldie Thoune and Sarah (Fred) Keifer and husband, Willis, she was preceded in death by son in law, John Neville; sisters: Florence (Jack) Daly and Carol (Richard) Larson; brothers: Lawrence (Betty) Thoune and Melvin Kiefer; and sister in law, Clarietta (Frank) Nemec.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Parish – Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Fr. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
