Michael J. Schwerzler, 84, of Marinette, Wis., passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area. He was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Marinette to Michael and Minnie (Nelson) Schwerzler.
Mike resided in the Marinette area all of his life and attended Marinette High School. He had been employed at Marinette Marine Corp. and later by the City of Marinette Water Utility from which he retired. Mike married the former Virginia “Ginny” Nelson on Dec. 17, 1982. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2004. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Mike is survived by four step-children: William, Theresa, Kandi and Shari; grandchildren, including especially, Cassandra; two sisters: Marjorie (Warren “Toby”) Gamelin and Joanne Galineau; many nieces and nephews; and a special companion, Mary Race. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James; and two sisters: Lois Niemojuski and Barbara Corey.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no service will be held.
