Lloyd R. Cook, 76, of Marinette, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at home. He was born on April 17, 1944, to the late Benjamin and Marian (DeGayner) Cook in Marinette.
Lloyd graduated from Marinette High School in 1962 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. In 1964, Lloyd married his high school sweetheart, Nola Ihlenfeldt. He worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank and Trust for over 30 years, retiring in 2019. Lloyd had also taught classes at NWTC, UW-Marinette, and Silver Lake College and was recognized as an educator of the year. He was a member of the Marinette Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and was involved with Mini Business World as game master. He also was a participant in the WI Bankers Assoc. “Teach Kids to Save” program. His passion was tennis, he spearheaded the building of the domes in Marinette, and was a USTA teaching pro and president of the WI Tennis Association for many years. He also enjoyed cars, planes and woodworking, making many things for others.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Nola Cook; son, Jason (Marsha) Cook; daughter, Teena (Shawn) Katzbeck all of Marinette; brothers: Richard of Door County and James of Green Bay; sister, Mariss Cook of Green Bay; six grandchildren: Kristof (Sarah) Katzbeck, Zoë (Andrew) Fluger, Maxx (Cherise) Katzbeck, Avery Katzbeck, and Tanner and Tara Cook; great-grandchildren: Magdalen, Shiloh and Haddon; and many friends in the community through teaching, tennis and other affiliations, including special friend, Cindy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Ron.
Per Lloyd’s wishes, no services will be held.
