He was born in Racine and raised in DePere, Wis. Bob attended the UW-Madison for college, took a break from studying to support his country in the U.S. Army and eventually graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in psychology. He married his true love, Stevie and they made their life residing in Waukesha for 26 years where he was a vice president at Marsh & McClellan Insurance Brokerage in Milwaukee. When he retired, he fulfilled his dream of living in a quiet, beautiful wooded area on Lake Michigan in Cedar River, Mich. He was principled and stubborn which led to a strong work ethic and core values that were admired by most. He believed strongly that life was meant to be lived through the loving of your family, enjoying your passions in life and making strong friendships along the way. He loved to have fun, whether it was playing golf, telling a story or hearing one that would make him laugh. His kind smile, warm handshake and boisterous laugh made people want to become quick friends with him, and he was always there to help with advice or lend a hand if needed. He lived his life by his terms up until the end and has now found his way back to the love of his life. Bob is survived by his siblings: Dennis (Marge), Ted and Pam; children: Mary (Marc) Becker and Chris(Sarah) Newell; and grandchildren: Kate, Sam, Brandon and Emma. Bob was blessed with a second family in Michigan who were always there for him and helped him in uncountable ways. His children will forever be grateful for Ronda and Jeff Karvinen, Jess and Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Marion Newell; his wife, Stephanie Newell; and niece, Julie Newell Cogburn.The family will hold a private memorial service.
