Robert Glenn Rye, 73, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho. The son of Carl and Irene Rye, he was born on Oct. 12, 1946, in Marinette, Wis.
Robert loved his childhood memories in Menekaunee along with hunting deer and fishing. He graduated 1965 from Marinette High School. He had several jobs between Wisconsin and Idaho, Marinette Marine, Packerland, Peck Packing, B&B’s Meat Market (owned) and Gordon Trucking. He loved to read and would say “if you read, then you can cook.” He took pride in making cakes by scratch. After moving to Idaho, he continued to fish but also loved to camp. He never complained each time he got sick, he would do his best to overcome it even when the life of dialysis came upon him. He so enjoyed being a grandfather and great. He would take time to show some of his grandkids how to fish. Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca of Boise; five children: Lori (Craig) Steinhoff of Green Bay, Ralph (Ann) Rye, traveling RVer’s, Jason (Cheryl) Rye of Idaho; Tiffany (Kevin) Jones of Maryland, and Tina (Joe) Nelson of Idaho; brother, Bill (Gerry) Rye of Menomonee; sister, Sue (Bill) Lund, Marinette; 15 grandchildren; and six greats. He is preceded in death by his parents, uncles and aunts.
Due to Covid-19 there will be no funeral but there will be held a Celebration of Life later and his ashes will be spread at his favorite fishing spot.
Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise is handling his cremation.
