Robert William Lindquist

Robert William Lindquist, passed away on Oct. 13, 2020, at Aurora Bay Care Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by loved ones. He was born at home on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1934, son of the late John H. and Geraldine (Nixon) Lindquist.

     Robert met his wife Helen Marie Smet at the Oasis in Stiles on New Year’s Eve in 1957, and they were married at St. Charles Church in Lena, Wis. Robert began his career at the bowling alley as a pin setter in Peshtigo, Wis., then continued his work at Thompson Boat Factory for 17 years, Badger Paper Mill for 35 years, a short period at Marinette Public School  and finishing with Pine Tree Mall for 17 years. A member of the V.F.W, he was  an avid outdoorsman, an artist, made wooden canoes, and loved to ice-skate. He enjoyed watching his family participate in numerous sporting events, but most of all just spending time with them.    

Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Marie (Smet) Lindquist; his children: Robert (Sue) Lindquist of Crivitz, Janet (Bryan) Rich of Peshtigo, Joanne (Jim) Konyn of Marinette and Karen (Ed) Lindquist of Grover;  grandchildren: Bryan (Loretta) Rich of Porterfield, Deanna (Brian) Wauters of Peshtigo, Bradley (Stacey) Rich of Stephenson, Mich., Karrie (Spenser) Wortner of Grover, Melissa (Bill) Westerman of Peshtigo, Thomas Reiswitz of Marinette, Adam (Jennifer) Olson of Stephenson, Kris (Jessie) Konyn of Marinette and Virginia (Eric) Schneider of Marinette. Also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and  three sisters: Mary (Albert)   Wolchanski,  Alice ( Sandy)   McDonald and Jean (Ernie) Kamin. Along with his parents Robert was preceded in death by a son, Dale Albert Lindquist; Grandma Pearl (Hearld) Hanson; a brother, John Lindquist; and a sister, Patricia Kunya.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 9 a.m., until time of services at 11 a.m., with Fr. Jess Berdol officiating.  

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
