Roger Allen Baranowski, 81, Peshtigo, Wis., a proud submariner and self-proclaimed man of steel passed away peacefully after a brief bout with system mastocytosis at home on July 16, 2020, with his children Brenda and Dean, along with his golden years, loving partner, Sharon Kasbohm, by his side.
Roger was a Vietnam Vet serving in the Navy on the USS Thornback submarine. He is now reunited with the first great love of his life, wife, Georgia, who preceded him in death. Their’s was a storybook romance full of the odd twists and turns, but their undying love for one another pulled them through even the stormiest of seas. They shared a successful local business together for over 35 years and loved to work alongside each other. They raised three children in an honest and loving home. Roger stood by his wife, Georgia’s, side during her year and a half long battle with cancer, never faltering in his intense devotion. His children are sure that they are both playing “pennies” in heaven. After his wife’s passing, Roger did not think he would find love again, but he did in an old friend, Sharon Kashbohm. Sharon stood by him and his family is most grateful for the love they shared although too briefly.
Roger is survived by golden years partner, Sharon Kasbohm; children: Brenda, Dean and Molly; great-grandchildren: Piper, Paxton and Emmet Gaertner; his brothers: Chris (Letha), Mike and Scott (Mary); sisters: Dawn (Dave) Bryant and Lynne (Gene) Hall. Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; parents: Harry and Bernice; and sister-in-law, Linda.
In lieu of a funeral a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family.
