MARINETTE — ValuCare Center, a Health Mart pharmacy in Marinette, has been named the Health Mart Pharmacy of the Year. The designation is awarded to top-performing Health Mart pharmacies for superior clinical performance, high-touch patient relationships and proactive advocacy efforts. ValuCare owner Steve Wilke, a registered pharmacist, accepted the award during Virtual McKesson ideaShare on Sept. 22.
Operating in Marinette for more than 45 years, ValuCare is the only locally owned, independent pharmacy serving the Marinette, Menominee and Peshtigo area. Owner and pharmacist Steve Wilke became a co-owner of ValuCare in 1998 and sole owner in 2013. Wilke, along with pharmacists Lisa Pardee, Nick Jackson and Jeff Hines are long-time residents of the area and active in many community organizations. Recently, ValuCare became a dementia-friendly business with the help of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Marinette County.
“While many pharmacies are closing down, we are rising to the occasion,” said Steve Wilke, RPh, owner and pharmacist. “Our community depends on us to provide quality healthcare, but we also care for them as individuals. And that’s the difference you’ll see at our store — we care.”
ValuCare combines an approachable community pharmacy with the technology solutions to deliver high-quality care to the Marinette area. The pharmacy team offers robust clinical services, like year-round vaccinations and compliance packaging. During the global health crisis, the pharmacy kept their doors open and provided COVID-19 test collection, helping more than 1,100 patients in Wisconsin.
“ValuCare tells a story of the impact a pharmacy team can have in their community. For more than 45 years, they have put patients first and continue to make sure the store offers the best in customer care and support,” said Nimesh Jhaveri, MBA, RPh, president, Health Mart. “Steve Wilke is truly an outstanding pharmacy owner who consistently pushes himself, his staff and pharmacy to excel in all areas of pharmacy such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, free delivery to customers, and much more.”
