PESHTIGO — By a narrow margin of 13 votes (unofficial), voters in Peshtigo School District rejected Referendum 2021 Tuesday, which promised significant improvements to the Peshtigo Middle/High School.

According to the unofficial results posted to the Marinette County website, a vote of 907 "no" to 894 "yes" denied the $33.2 million infrastructure upgrade and class space renovations sought by the district.

In addition, voters also turned down the $1.825 million development of a large "green space" west of the Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center to accommodate athletic fields, parking and trails for use by the public. The results tabulated 796 yes votes to 997 no votes.

All results remain unofficial until canvassing by the district, tentatively scheduled to begin Thursday.
