“The Teachers Union of Wisconsin are talking about virtual classrooms this fall because of the COVID-19 virus. Why is it that no one is looking at what the Europeans are doing in the face of their pandemic? Sweden never closed schools or had lockdown and they are doing better than we are.

“Most European countries are opening their schools this fall. It has been shown that children do not pass the virus. It seems to me that their decision is more political than practical. The U.S. spends more money on public education than anyone else and yet we are not in the top 20 in the world for science, math or reading skills.

“Perhaps we should go away with public education and invest in charter and private schools.”
