Thank you for trying your best

Thank you for trying your best.

Everyone’s normal life has been turned upside down, and it really stinks. It stinks for the people who can’t work and are doing whatever they can to provide for their family. It stinks for the people going to work every day, worrying about bringing something home to their family. It stinks for people on the frontlines in the industries that are dealing with the effects of the coronavirus head on.

Thank you for staying home even though you’d rather be working and hugging your family. Thank you for being nicer and more giving of yourself even though you’re hurting, too. Thank you for facing the coronavirus everyday, even though it’s a daunting task and you’re tired.

Don’t get me wrong … there are a lot of things bugging me about this whole thing we’re going through, just like everyone else. The lack of proper sleep, constantly thinking of what you touch all day in public and the constant bombardment of news and rumors about everything surrounding this isn’t helping.

What is helping me is seeing the things that people are doing out of the goodness of their own hearts every day. I love seeing the stories and photographs we’ve been publishing about the community and how they are facing this time head on with a smile. From reading about people who put bears in their windows to the “Queens of social distancing” and many more, it warms my heart and makes me feel like I can keep doing this. We hope it makes other people feel similarly.

Another way that has kept my spirits up is the celebrities I follow on various social media platforms.

Josh Brolin, an actor who was recently in the Avengers movie series, as well as “Deadpool 2.” Brolin’s posts have been cracking me up on Instagram with his dry sense of humor and his tongue-in-cheek videos about tips for dealing with all of this at home. His heart-felt posts filled with deep sentiments make me think. And, his videos and photos he shares of his family make me smile.

John Krasinski, probably most famous for playing Jim on “The Office,” has been posting a new video every Monday on Facebook for his “news” broadcast “Some Good News.” He “reports” on several posts on the Internet that are heart-warming or just plain funny stories. Packer fans should watch the second episode, as we’re mentioned in that one by someone who isn’t known for being a Packer fan.

Jeffery Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on “The Walking Dead,” is constantly posting photos and videos of his life on his ranch with his wife, kids and their animals on Twitter. The normalcy as well as his reactions are too fun not to enjoy. Just fair warning before you watch, this is how he talks uncensored.

“Linda” shares the life of her puppy Tucker, TuckerBudynz, an adorable golden retriever. His happy face is on Facebook and Instagram, probably other social media platforms, too. Videos of Tucker trying food, running around and doing other puppy things are posted on a regular basis. Oh! Did I mention that “Linda” puts captions so that you can understand what Tucker has to say? Well, she does.

I hope you can enjoy some of the good, even though there is a lot of not good in our face every day. We’re all going through something, especially now. Remember to keep in touch with your family and friends, ask for help when you need it and take some time to laugh.

Stay safe and healthy, and thank you for continuing to do your best, whatever that may be.
