“Some Michigan businesses are skirting the executive law mandating facial coverings inside by actively encouraging customers to claim a medical exception that cannot be challenged because of HIPAA regulations. The businesses also claim the 4th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution as a reason.

“These businesses may believe they are accommodating their customers, but in fact they are jeopardizing their employees’ health and that of their families if an unmasked, asymptomatic person enters and infects those inside. The masks lessen the chance of transmission to others.

“Better to wear a mask than intubated.”
